Goldenwest Electric Cooperative (GWEC) is a rural electric cooperative based in Wibaux, Montana. Our service area expands into parts of Dawson, Fallon, Wibaux (Montana), Billings, Golden Valley, and Slope counties (North Dakota).
Goldenwest Electric Cooperative is a small coop established in 1942 to serve rural members in our area. GWEC is a distribution cooperative that receives approximately 85% of their power from Basin Electric Power Cooperative and the other 15% comes from Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).
The Cooperative is governed by a five member Board of Directors who are elected by the membership in the areas they serve. Goldenwest Electric currently employs 8 full time employees.
